Fire alarm installation, maintenance & monitoring
Installation

Review our recommendations to ensure you are satisfied they meet your requirements, then our engineers can begin installation. Whether hard-wired or wireless, your new fire alarm system will feature all the key components necessary to equip your business to detect signs of fire.
A control panel will allow you to manage the system, linked to a combination of commercial smoke and heat detectors. Your system will also include internal and external audible alarms and emergency break-glass devices.
Maintenance of Fire Alarms

After installation, SCS will regularly provide maintenance of your commercial fire alarm to ensure that your system works effectively, minimising the risk of lapses in your safety. Our engineers carry out a fire alarm inspection to verify that your devices are in good working order as well as fire alarm testing to ensure the devices are doing what they need to do.
If you would like SCS to take care of the maintenance of an existing system, we can usually do this and will carry out a system health check to ensure the equipment is effective.
System Monitoring

SCS also provides 24/7 monitoring services for your alarm, guaranteeing you receive notification as soon as any sign of fire is detected, allowing you to take immediate action and reducing any losses incurred. To reduce false alarms, most Fire and Rescue services now require visual verification of a fire before they will attend. Without monitoring, you do not have this capability and will have to rely on a staff member or the public to call the emergency service.
Addressable or Conventional?

Addressable Fire Alarm Systems – These systems consist of all linked devices (such as smoke detectors) having an ‘address’ or location programmed into the system, so that, if a device is triggered, the panel will show exactly which device it was and where it is located. Conventional Fire Alarm Systems – Conventional systems do not allow you to pinpoint which device has been triggered, they divide the building into zones instead.
Fire alarm companies offer these two options. Addressable systems are generally the more reliable option, although conventional systems can be more affordable.
SCS’s surveyors will be able to recommend the best system for you, based on your needs and budget. To book a free-of-charge survey visit and quotation, click above or call our team on 0208 9696 848.
