Scaffolding Security

Smart Construction Security offers a variety of ways of securing your scaffolding, based on your particular requirements, your budget and what your power source is. It is recommended that whichever system you opt for, you ensure that it is remotely monitored, ensuring activations can be seen.

SCS's main scaffolding project security systems are:

Wired Scaffolding Alarms Battery Wireless Scaffolding Alarm-CCTV Scaffolding CCTV

Wired Scaffolding Alarm

SCS's wired scaffolding alarms employ intelligent quad/ dual AIR beams or dual passive infra-red detectors, all compliant with the department of Trade and Industry's requirements and with BS EN 500822:1995, along with PR ETS330-683:11 95 and all subsequent revisions. Our equipment meets the NCP115 specification by NSI, SSAIB for scaffolding alarms and is insurance approved.

Our sensor technology detects only human movement, ignoring small animals such as birds and cats.

The sensors have a line of sight of up to 200 metres, yet cannot penetrate the building line, interfere with site equipment or be affected by normal pedestrian movement or traffic, extreme weather, small vibrations, fallen leaves or debris.

A household 13A plug or fused spare power the alarm control panel and we advise customers that the control panel be located internally to avoid tampering. The control panel can be located externally if it is kept in an IP rated enclosure, upon the scaffolding and above detection areas. The power output from the panel to the wired devices is just 12v to 24v.

Customers can control the system using an LCD keypad, located either internally or externally using IP rated enclosures. In the event of criminal intrusion, the system triggers a local siren and strobe light. Customers can also choose to empower the interface to switch on temporary IP rated 110v LED security flood lightswhich illuminate the scaffolding.

The siren and strobe light are safelykept in a polycarbon ate enclosure with environmental protection of not less than IP6.7 and attached to the scaffolding at a prominent but inaccessible spot inside the detection zone.

All SCS's systems can send signals to a remote but manned round-the-clock Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) via CSL DigiAir or direct to designated key holders via a GSM module if requested. Manned alarm responses are optional.

Alarm system warning signs are displayed at various locations around the project.

Battery Wireless Scaffolding Alarm CCTV

CSC's video-enhanced, remotely monitored security system fights against criminal intrusionsand theft from. remote and powerless locations where power on site is eitherunavailable or not easily accessed.

This industry-approved system is powered by the latest lithium battery technology, lasting up to two years. All the system's devices are wireless, meeting NCP 115 by NSI & SSAIB scaffold alarm accreditations. This means no wires run internally or externally and no mains power source is required.

The system includes a device known as Motion Viewer, over looking the sensitive, storage and working areas that could be targeted by criminals. The MotionViewer carries a Motion Detection Device with 90 degree horizontal detection and creep zone, a mini colour CCTV camera with night vision to 14m. MotionViewer is wireless, lithium battery powered and tamper proof with internal switches and a gyroscopic sensor to protect against tampering

When an activationis picked up by the motion detector, the internal CCTV camera records for up to 10 seconds and the wireless Sounder/Strobe is activated. As the camera records the footage it is simultaneously streamed to a wireless control panel which uploads via the GSM network to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), alerting staffto the intrusion/detection; or it goes direct to a PC internet browser or smart device with the app installed

The ARC or key holder then confirms the activation and alerts the relevant key holders for the site or manned response for attendance if this has been requested. The video clip is also available for download to assist in identification and provision of evidence, for the Police and insurance company.

Arming and disarming of the system are both carried out using a wireless LCD keypad or FOB entry/exit or both. The system allows up to 25 devices, a control panel, siren strobe and LCD Keypad or FOB, meaning this system is able to run 22 motion viewers

Scaffolding CCTV

CCTV on your scaffolding enables you to record all activity, 24/7, as well as offering remote access for live viewing from any device with aninternet connection.

Installing CCTV on your project provides security and ca also help you meet health andsafety targets.

Our CCTV systems are monitored by a BS8418 & Class II remote monitoring station (ARC, Alarm Receiving Centre), which can be via a dedicated 4G router or your own broadband if that is available on the project.

With remote monitored CCTV, an audio amplifier and PA speakers are also installed, giving the ARC the ability to issue audio announcements remotely in order to warn off any intruders who might have trespassed on the scaffolding or other protected areas.

As video verification of the intruders is confirmed by the ARC, a police or mobile response unit can be requested or a for attendance
